This is just an overly amazing house track. When you go through the first build up, you’re introduced to a rapidly sung verse that seems to be in a language other than English. I don’t know why, but that always makes a song for me – English mixed with another language. I have a feeling that this song might suit the niche of some of you guys, too.

Alright, yeah, it’s a female pop group. Before I knew that, I thought it was a decent song… you know, the beat and such. It still is, especially that beat part. The lyrics, however, do indeed reflect summer, so in that respect the song is good. All of that aside, this is a catchy song and there’s no denying that. There’s also no denying my love for punctuation.

Klaas’ touch make this remix one to put in your Favourites list. A guitar persists during the entire song, especially during the several buildups. This track sounds really great when you’ve got a good set of bass-enhancing speakers / earbuds on maxed out volume.

The lyrics on this one are kind of lacking, meaning they make no sense. It’s now big deal though because you can barely understand what’s being said. It doesn’t detract very much from the song’s enjoyability though, as this song has a really unique vibe.

It’s quite hard to find this song in the US, almost impossible to buy it. I only happened upon it on a French radio station, because Alberkam seems to be quite popular over there, especially with this song. I don’t quite know why this song is so great, it just is. There are some really nice buildups and keyboard segments for sure though.

It’s surprising this song hasn’t picked up as much mainstream radio attention as it should. The snares draw you in and the trumpets seal the deal. The lyrics aren’t bad either, but some may argue that the chorus is repetitive and ultimately bad. All in all, Cartel pulls through and made this a good track.

Perhaps better known for the rendition with ATB in Future Memories, Behind also take form in a few other remixes. The Callea remix featured here can be marked as hitting the mainstream in the United States when played on Pulse 87 in NYC. The clapper in this version is riveting and makes this song into an instant hit in my library.

Ane Trolle lends her voice in this one, and it really does fit. Trentemøller also does a good job transitioning between moods – you start off with energy, climax with some crazy keyboard distortion, and then finish off with the feeling of sadness. In many ways this is better than the original.

Under the Influence of Giants released this track in late 2006 on their debut album. Shadowed by the popularity of another track, Mama’s Room (which was still only a minor hit on rock radio), this song didn’t pick up momentum until long after it’s release. It’s apparent that the band is influenced by the sounds of the Bees Gees and may sound to some as similar to the style of MGMT – minus the strange noises.

Brian Molko, the lead singer of Placebo, is featured in this song, and while the lyrics may be lacking meaning, but the energy built up in the track more than makes up for it. Just image this song set to an epic escape sequence in a movie (like the music video!).

Halfway though the song you can hear a melody that’s reminiscent of 8-bit music, which makes the song unique. The lyrics, in addition to the melody, are sure to become drilled into your brain to the point that you will be able to anticipate every downbeat and word. A quick note, if you’re not used to this type of music, give it some time to set in. If it still harshes your mellow, then so be it.
